University: Keeping Warm and Reducing Your Heating Bill

Throughout university I’ve always had bills-included housing packages – whilst they probably turn out a little more expensive it’s often easier. This year I’m pay quite a big proportion of my rent as bills due to living in an old style house with massive dodgy windows (there’s a gap in mine that takes nearly half a roll of toilet paper to block up!). With that in mind I couldn’t not share this infographic from RapidOnline;

What are your top tips for cutting down your bills?

  • This post is a damn godsend. Currently looking some gorgeous flats that seem to be a nightmare to heat – alongside health issues meaning I require lots of warmth – on a student loan it just feels like it’ll be impossible!

    Alternatives are for sure worth a good look.. Thanks so much 🙂

    If only I could just replace the windows and sort the insulation in my student flat! Although luckily our flat this year is quite small so it heats up well. To try and keep rooms warm, we shut all the doors and close curtains. I also keep meaning to buy/make a draught excluder for our front door.

      I know, half the problem with student accommodation is the shoddy finishing! A housemates mum made us a draught excluder and it made SUCH a difference! x
